Have you ever searched Pinterest for 'the best chocolate chip cookie recipe' and been overwhelmed by the enormous flood of blog posts that smacks you in response?? Because SAME. And going to my friend Google is even worse, with about 83,900,000 results.

So I've rounded up a bunch of popular recipes, each claiming to be "the best," and I'm going to put them to the test (lol @rhymes) for you! I'm sure we're in for a good time, my friends.
I should also make it clear, right up front, that I don't believe in one true chocolate chip cookie recipe. This ain't a one size fits all kind of situation, ya know? I think chocolate chip cookie goodness is in the tastebuds of the beholder (or something like that). So instead of searching for one recipe to rule them all (and running the risk of stomping on someone's childhood memories in the process), I'll be sharing all the best things about each recipe I test. I want to know which cookies are the softest, the chewiest, the richest, the gooiest, and the best for dunking in milk. Hopefully that's a mission we can all get behind.
So slip into your favorite cookie-baking socks (just me? really? alrighty then) and enjoy the look on your cashier's face as you bring a cart full of chocolate to their register. Get ready to rev up the engine of that electric mixer you love even though it's taking up your precious kitchen counter space and your downstairs neighbors comment on the noise it makes! YES! We're doing this.
